Install HP 6110 drivers

Dear All

We have a remote user who logs into a PC here (after  they connect via VPN) through a RDP session to a PC inside our LAN (both PC's are XP Pro SP3). They ideally want their local Printer from home (HP 6110 officejet USB) to appear within their RDP session (they have got Printers and the usb box checked with their RDP connection tab).

It does not appear and gives an error within the System logs as the driver is not installed , that;'s what it tells me. I have installed numerous HP 6110 drivers, but none appear when I go into Printer > File Server Properties > Drivers. The 6110 drivers do not appear.

I have even selected another print driver for the remote  machine ( adriver that is already installed) and this works, as the printer shows up, but the prinitng is incorrect (as its the wrong driver).

I know that the correct driver needs to be on both PC's for this to work, but I cannot get the 6110 driver to appear. Can anyone hlpe with this?

Thanks

You need to get the same version of the driver on both machines.  To do that, he will need to uninstall what is on his system currently and then install the same thing you install on the lan system.  I would suggest the "Basic Driver" as it leaves out all the HP Photo(not)Smart junk: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-17885-5&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=79477&sw_lang=
On the lan side, tell it to print to File.

Hi thanks for your reply.

I have done this, but it does the and we still get the error event ID 11

"Driver hp officejet 6100 series required for printer hp officejet 6100 series (Copy 1) is unknown. Contact the administrator to install the driver before you log in again."

It just does not map over cleanly. I cannot see the Print drivers listed (6100) within the advanced option within any printers.

Any other help please?
sorry Event ID 1111 is th error listed within the logs.
One end or the other must not be getting a clean uninstall which is common with HP's.  Use the removal tool to clean both systems and try again with the driver.  Please note that he must unplug the printer's USB cable for it to work.

I can try this (above) but I still cannot see on the machine that we remote itno, the drivers listed within the
Print Server Properties. The 6110 is not listed.

To gett this to work I had to use the HP Deskjet 990c driver.

I did try the above but it did not work.

Can I give myself the points?
