Netware 6.5 sp7 vs edir 8.8.8

Quick question (I hope!): Can I install a Netware 6.5 sp 7 server into an existing edir 8.8.8 tree running on a Windows 2008 R2 server? (If the answer is yes, I'll be posting another question shortly asking why it's not working!)

According to this version table Netware 6.5 SP7 should be on eDirectory 8.8.2, which is basically version 8.8 with Service pack 2.

Different service pack levels of eDirectory should work together. Of course there is a possibility that with service packing your server you decided not to upgrade eDirectory due to some sort of incompatibility with older other products.

In my effort to be brief, I think that my explanation was lacking! My situation is that I already have edir 8.8.6 installed on a Win 2008 R2 server, with a tree defined. Currently, I am installing a fresh copy of Netware 6.5 SP7 on new hardware. Rather than create an edirectory tree on this new server, I'd like to add/install it to the edirectory on the Windows server. As shown in the table deroode referred to, edir 8.8.2 ships with NW 6.5 sp7 but that's only useful if I want to install this edir as part of the 6.5 sp7 installation. The table also shows that edir 8.8.6 "does not support Netware." I know that this means edir 8.8.6 cannot be installed on a Netware server (thus my installation on Windows), but does it also mean that Netware servers cannot be installed in an edir 8.8.6 tree?

This is hard to grade. I would have liked some more definitive response instead of a best guess. I don't know yet if it's accurate since my priorities at work have been changed and I won't be able to verify anything in the immediate future. Easy to follow answer? Yes, basically try it and see.

That being said, I am grateful to deroode for giving it a shot. Perhaps it was just a poor question.
