HP Printer P2035n
We have an HP Printer P2035n. During our power outage, the ip address seems to have gone back to default. I want to enter an ip address manually. I am having difficulty getting to the imbedded web server. On the internet, I have entered the faulty ip address, the model, the serial, and none of these will take me to the printer for set up. There is no led screen to set ip address. The faulty address that I cannot get to is 169.254.195.127. How do I get the the imbedded card?

I do not want it to be that address. Did I misunderstand something?
That is the present address and I want it to be a 172....address.

you need to change your computer address first so you can connect to see the web interface then you will be able to change the IP of the printer
Print a configuration page:
Press and hold the Go button for 5 seconds when the printer Ready light is on and no other jobs
are printing.
Then use the IP address on the sheet to log into the EWS and change the settings to what you need

I did the configuration page and got the 169 address, but entering that in does not take me to printer.
is the computer and printer hooked to the same network?
That doesn't sound good
Try resetting the printer completely to it's out of the box state
For HP LaserJet P2030 Series Printers, restore defaults by pressing and holding the Go button
and Cancel button for 10 seconds while turning on the product.
Then print a configuration page again.
If you're still getting a 169.xxx address then your network card may have died.

Actually, I just notice the card is flashing orange quite furiously.
I would say you have a problem with your jetdirect in the printer (nic). For a default address that is a very funky address just like if you cannot get a connection your local is like 169 etc. I would try and set the printer back to its defaults to see if DHCP turns back on for the printer. If you are still unable to troubleshoot I would look at the jetdirect (NIC) on the printer as being faulty.
The 169.254.x.x addresses are used by many devices to indicate that it has *no* IP address. It looks as if the printer is trying to get a DHCP address but can't find the DHCP server.
If a cold reset as suggested by MASQUERAID does not get it up again, then it almost certainly implies a hardware fault. Try a different cable, a different port on the router, and failing all that, a new NIC (or a new printer).
