How to Monitor / Log User Activity

Hello Friends,

We are using a small application which requires internet connection, running on 15-20 pcs,

My simple question is:

how we can monitor / log what all input/activities going on on all those 15-20 PCs....meaning as per company's security policy we want to keep record what user is doing & what input done by particular users on which PCs...etc

Some one suggest me to host Windows AD & terminal Server with ThinClient, by which we can log/monitor all user activity....would it be permanent / stable & professional solution or the same we can archive by any professional / reliable solution.

Kindly advice any professional software by which we can archive our need,

FYI : currently we are running all PCs on Windows 7 / XP in workgroup with ADSL internet connection.

Thanks in advanced...

Do you mean file access OR EVERY key that they press?
To start running Key Loggers, You will need to make sure that your contract of employment makes them fully aware that EVERYTHING that they type is recorded and monitored or you could be on some legal sticky ground.

thanks for prompt reply,

i guess...i dont need AD for all above loggers software, but how can i restrict users not to temper, modify or delete these software...& would i be getting log report sent to my email ...meaning is these software can send me a daily report automatically to my email id?

Pls also advice/suggest compare b/w these software & windows terminal servers (by cost/maintenance/setup/license ..etc)

thanks once again...
@ Neilsr : File access + every key they press including visited sites, personal chat/IM, secured websites....etc.

Since we are into finance / online trading business....all our operator would be strictly instructed / advised / known not to use internet for personal / fun/ tempering..etc.

moreover pls share any link/page for some legal steps which can be consider to be protected our self.

many thanks...
AD & terminal Server cannot log most of activity. Third party software needed anyway.

About compare see http://monitoring-software-review.toptenreviews.com
@ morpheios : what all I can log into Terminal Server using RDP / ThinClient?

Pls advice...will any of these software let me see the live monitor of users...meaning can I see the live activity of online user over internet(with web browser/apps)?

pls suggest...
Also : would logs email which would be send to me..would be encrypted...

More : how this email would be routed....which email server it would use to send email to me....?
via Terminal Server you can log files and folder access (including executable) and nothing more. Also you can connect to user screen and watch what he do.

According http://monitoring-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ each of Spytech, SpyAgent, WebWatcher, Spector Pro, SniperSpy has online monitoring. And each can send email. See reporting section.
Personal opinon....

If you work for a finance company that has severe security policies and strict regulatory requirements then I would suguest that you get away from a windows workgroup, go to AD and get a company that is experienced in this kind of security to come in and do the setup/configuration of all of your systems.
@ morpheios thansk  for your links:

kindly advice ...is it possible ...if we install Terminal Server & install one of keylogger soft you advice..in that case will all remote user's activity would be logged or not?...meaning to ask...will activity be monitored/recorded on windows terminal server while all remote users are logged into terminal server?

@ Neilsr: we are ready to go with AD but with TS...any advice to use any software to keep all activity monitored...

any advice....
For terminal there are special software such as http://www.refog.com/terminal-monitor/keyfeatures.html

But I think most of such software compatible with TS
@ morpheios : I mean to ask : i will install these software on Terminal Server (Windows Server 2008) & whenall terminal / remote users log in to ternmianl server...I must get all logs / screenshort from terminal Server (Windows Server 2008)..

Kindly confirm the same....as per my need...so I can go for buying one of the best one...

many thanks in advanced...
Yes you will receive all logs of all terminal server users sorted by users some as in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lvc6waKT0g&feature=player_embedded
