Report with addresses
Hi,
I would like to know whether the following routine is possible.
I have a table of addresses:-
A1
A2
A3
Country
There are occasions when the address is so short that Address 3 (A3) is not required even though the country field is filled in.
I also have a report which picks all four addresses. However, given the above, when I print the report, there is a blank gap in the address3 .
I was wondering whether itis possible to avoid that.
the report instead of looking like:-
John Doe
Apt1 Block3
A3
England
would become:
John Doe
Apt1 Block3
England
Thanks

Hi,
thanks for replying.
I have put the Can Shrink property to yes but it still doesnt work. i.e. the gap between a2 and country still appears.
I am attaching a sample database for you to view.
Thanks
PS its done on A97
Shrink.mdb

You can create a formula for the address where you can concatenate all parts of the address and place the formula on the report ( not each field separatelly)

the reasoning helped. Finally located Microsofts solution which together with the reasoning was enough to sort prob out.
For this to work, this field would have to be on its own line. Lables or other controls lined up horizontally with it will prevent it from shrinking.
