Moving users redirected folders

Hi Experts,

Got a SBS2003R2 server network that I'm moving to a WIndows 2008R2 server setup.  I need to move users redirected folders from the old SBS server to a File Server.

Current redirection GP policy is below. (Some users have offline files activated, some desktop users have offline file capability denyed via GP.)

Whats the best thing to do?  WIll it just work if I change the redirection policy to point to the new server or do I need to copy the files across?  Please note, I dont want to use DFS at the moment.

Please note that I have a number of users that are based in the office and quite a few that are remote based with laptops.

Help really appreciated.  Cheers

When you change the folder redirection location in the GPO check to move contents to new location

So basically all I have to do is to A) setup the User share and permissions, then B) change the GP Folder redirection location and get the users to re-boot?

Also, does it matter that I will have users not connected to the network with their laptops when I change the GP make a difference? THanks.

OK. THanks.  I'll try it next week, see how it goes and report back.  Cheers John

IT worked!   I had a problem with a windows 7 Laptop that only synced moved some of it's files but did backups and migrated the contents of the MyDOcument folder manually.

I have one PC that refuses to move mydocuments but that seems to be a symptom of a AD GP error.  I'll ask another question about that.

Thanks very much for your help.
