troubleshooting Question

Can i remove some of this verbose-ness with mysqldump

I am issuing the following command

/usr/bin/mysqldump mkevents --no-create-info --skip-comments  mke_users "--where= uid = 25 "   -u USER --password=PASSWD -h localhost >> /home/tmp/deleted/user_25.sql

This works, but i would like to remove these statements in the sql
(there are more , but this is a sample)
/*!40101 SET NAMES utf8 */;

I thought --skip-comments was the ticket, but did not make a difference
