Does windows 2008 enterprise cover enterprise r2 servers in a Vmware environment
Hi,
I have a quick question on Microsoft licensing(a degree required to understand it!). Does windows 2008 enterprise(oem), which is for a vmware environment cover you to roll out Windows server 2008 R2? My understanding that it does and allows for 4 vOSE's?
Thanks in advance!
Francis

Nope! Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are two different products! R2 requires its own R2 Enterprise. For your existing 2008 (R!) you can install 4 2008 R1 OSes only (with SP1 or SP2)!
