How to log on a machine in XP mode in win7

I am installing a novell client to an xp machine that is an xp mode running in win 7 ultimate sp1. when i go to log on the vm, I can't find a tree. When logging on to workstation only as administrator, I got a message my account is disabled and contact my administrator. I am the administrator. How do I log on the vm?

I booted the VM in safe mode and changed the admin pw. I can now at least get into the VM.

The XP-mode VM doesn't get SLP (Service location Protocol) info, hence it cannot find the tree. After installing the Novell client you can click Advanced, and in the eDirectory tab enter the correct tree name and context, and in the Server box the IP address of an eDirectory server.
