Wordpress NextGen sllideshow
A client of mine has a wordpress site and would like to get the gallery to act as a slideshow. NextGen is installed on the wordpress installation, however going into the settings there is an issue with the JW Image Rotator. the following message is shown ย
The path to imagerotator.swf is not defined, the slideshow will not work.
If you would like to use the JW Image Rotatator, please download the player here and upload it to your Upload folder (Default is wp-content/uploads).
Not using wordpress myself, can someone explain how I can do this. My client was told that it required a new theme installed, is this the case?

Agree with Jeremy's solution. ย It should not require a new theme.

Many thanks, being new to wordpress (I tend to use Mojoportal ) as a CMS, can the SWF file be uploaded from the admin login or does it require a ftp connection?
Many thanks in advance.

I believe it will still find it. It's worth a shot.

If you upload it through the panel, it will go into wp-contents/uploads/whatever so make sure the references are changed appropriately.

If NextGen is like it used to be it has a button you can click that does a search for the file. It's toward the last option in the multiple tab section of the administrative panel. I don't remember the name, but it's in the section where you set the thumbnail size, should be the last tab. It's in the Slideshow Settings towards the top. Just click the find path, or whatever it says on the button. The only possible issue I could see would be folder permissions. I remember a few years ago I had to change the file permissions that lead to the file. ย The last time I used it I didn't have to change the permissions, just the basic 755 for folder and 644 for the file should work.
