Windows 7 SP1 Update Error 800f0816
I have a brand new Dell Precision T1600 desktop, and a new HP laptop that are both Windows 7 Pro. I'm trying to get the service pack one update to install on them but it fails every time. After the fail it does its system restore and goes back to the point before I tried the install.
Here's what I've tried so far:
-Manual install from disk, and from newly downloaded version
-Making sure .net was up to date (I read that one somewhere)
-No driver issues
-Everything else is up to date
-Prerequisite updates were installed successfully
-Clean OS install
-No antivirus, and firewall is off
I appreciate your help with this! I've got to get these computers out soon and I've already wasted a couple days on this. Thanks!

Is SP1 being applied via Windows Update? If so I would download and install the standlone version.

Thanks I'll try the system readiness tool. And yeah I've tried the stand alone install of SP1, that was my last attempt.
