New exchange server unable to create mailbox for existing user

I have a brand new exchange server 2010 SP1 install.

I am starting to configure users mail boxes but I have one user (happens to be my user) that does not show up in the list under add existing users mailbox.

In EMC I went under recipient configuration -> New Mailbox.  After clicking next I changed it to existing users and then clicked add.  The list of all the users in the domain shows but my user is not listed.

I checked ADUC on the exchange server and I do see my user.

The strange thing is if you search from the current mailbox list (just click Mailbox under Recipient Configuration) and do a search my user does come up.

That same user does not show up without searching.  As far as I can tell I am the only user this is happening to.

I am using Exchange server 2010 SP1 on a windows server 2008 R2 standard

My domain controller is on a separate server.  I only have the one domain controller.

I kinda figured this out by myself.  For some reason my account was listed under Mail contact.  I removed the user from there and then I was able to add the mailbox.

Not sure what caused this but I did get it working.
