is it fine to disable SBS monitoring?
Just wondering if it's fine to disable sbs monitoring on SBS server 2008? As I see it's takign a lot of system resource, especially the memory usage.
Instead of uninstall, I just disabled the Datacollectorsvc service(Windows SBS Manger Service), SQL Server(SBSMONITORING) service
Is that enough? and Will I miss anything in event viewer if something happen to the server?

in my seen no , you should not do that , event's help you to check status and health of the server , its helpful to solve any problem in the server and getting troubleshooting easier , so try no to do that
Personally, I have never seen the SBS reports give me any more information than I would gather from reading the server event logs. In my opinion the massive performance hit does not justify what you get from it.

Thank you ninjatek !! Can you tell me what did you do to disable them? Same like me or I missed something else? And are you saying there will be no impact on the logs in event viewer? if that's the case, I agree with you, we can also check the event viewer to find out the problem as non-SBS server we all need to that as well.

I have disabled it in this way on a number of our client's SBS servers to no detriment.
