Create a web service (most likely RESTful) that connects to your database. You can then consume this service in your Android app, and you won't have to distribute any DB credentials to your application. You'll probably have some mechanism for authenticating your users in general, but that shouldn't be terribly complicated.

I have a web service in my .net web application(on the server)..but im not sure how the android would consume that(what would the code look like?), do you have any examples? I am using vb.net on web application side...

I'll have to defer to someone more versed in Java as to how to actually generate the code to generate the proxy class, but your .NET service should allow you to expose a WSDL file that the Android application can use to generate its classes. I'll look around and see if I can find how to generate the class in Java.

Is your .NET web service a WCF service?

Please forgive my ignorance: does that mean you are using WCF?
