Remove Task Bar Icon from Bar using Registry

After performing a transfer using the Windows 7 Easy Transfer (from Windows 7 to Windows 7), a program icon transferred from the old computer to the new computer Task Bar.  The icon shortcut does not work and gives an error (even though the exact same program is installed).  I can not delete the icon, as the right-click menu will not work for the icon, so the remove option is unavailable.  Where in the registry can I go to manually remove this icon from the task bar?

It's not in the registry, but in a folder on the system drive.

Go to:
C:\Users\<user name>\Appdata\roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
Where "<user name> is the name of the logged in user. You should see the broken shortcut there, and delete it.

Actually, you shouldn't have to edit the registry.  Look at this location using Windows Explorer:

c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

It has all your Taskbar shortcuts listed there.  Remove the one that doesn't work...
