Linux Boots instead of Windows

My hard drive had multiple partitions.  One partition had Linux OS, other partition had Windows XP OS.  I wanted rid of the Linux and was going to use Windows only.  Used Acronis Disk Director to delete linux partition and increase the Windows partition size.  So now I have only one partition and it is the active and primary partition (there's actually a 2.5GB unallocated partition left behind).

Now when I try to boot computer, the screen comes up with the Grub version and waits for input from me.  I know next to nothing about Linux.

I'm thinking I should have wiped the partitions before I deleted them.  Anyway, how can I get this thing to boot to windows?

jordannet,
that sounds like a great idea.  When I boot from xp cd, all the files load fine.  When I choose repair option, pc shuts down and reboots.  Ever seen that before?
what?shtdown?seem something wrong, but what repair you choose?repair windows or recovery console?you should repair console
I'm choosing recovery console.  sometimes when it reboots, it boots directly to BIOS.  I tested CMOS battery - it was no good.  I put a known good battery in but behavior remains the same.
its not battary check ram,its maybe problem with RAM,if u have 2 pieces of ram remove 1 and try boot xp cd
i probably should run a hard ware check.  put other ram in and still reboots.  will ubcd allow me to apply the command line fixes you're suggesting?
i gotta go.  family waiting.  i'll see if you're around tomorrow.  thanks for your help.
ok,and i have go to sleep i have work tomorrow its 1 am here in amman.
Good luck mate.
Wish that will help to solve issue
Boot from Disk Director boot CD and there right click on your HDD - select Update MBR. Apply the changes and reboot.
After that GRUB will go. If Windows still fails to load then you will need to do FIX MBR from recovery console which will write default Windows MBR to your HDD and replace the empty record left by GRUB.
i'm using disk director suite 10.0.  Right clicking does not give me the option to Update MBR.

I do not have my Desktop at hand to test it. But there should be similar feature.
These answers helped me boot the hard drive to the Windows XP OS.
