install vmware in linux

error for the output of tar -zxvf filename in the media device..

is a failure

yes, probably because its trying to write to the CDROM

copy the file to /tmp

cp filename /tmp/filename

and then tar zxvf filename

thats correct your archive is now extracted.

change directory to vmware-tools-distrib

and execute the scripts

do you know LINUX!

(there's a full stop before the /)
