VMWare ESXi 4.0 Unable to expand datastore

Hello,
We have expanded our raid to 300GB. After the reboot you can see the new size of 838GB.
 Datastore-properties
Unfortunately I can’t expand the datastore.
 Datastore-extend
Does anyone know the problem?

If you have installed ESXi on the same array as the datastore, this is not possible to expand the datastore because of the limitation of 4 primary partition limit per disk.

and it looks like ESXi shares the same disk as the datastore.

e.g. you have installed ESXi on this disk, which also has the datastore.

But personally, I would backup the VMs, install ESXi 4.x onto a USB drive, and reformat the whole Array to be used as a single datastore.
