To confirm: are you being asked to reboot after joining it to the domain (normal) or when you change the IP settings for the NIC (shouldn't be required).

Are you getting any errors when setting the DNS servers for the NIC?

its asking me to reboot when i change the ip settings, now there are static dns settings in my xp pc, which i want to change before adding to domain, but its rebooting but the changes are not effecting, i am not getting any errors
Go to the command prompt and run this command:

netsh interface ip set address "Local Area Connection" dhcp

***This is assuming the network adapter you're trying to change the IP for is "local area connection". It could also be "local area connection 2" or "wireless network connection". Look in your control panel for the correct name

What happens after you run that command?
also this command:

netsh int ip set dns "local area connection" dhcp
I got the solution, its my anti virus program that prevented me to change the ip settings, thank you all for help.

Got the solution
