Hi Experts.

I have two animated gifs, running on a apage. After the animation completes I would like text to display when mousing over the blue rectangles.

see link here http://www.funktionaldesignstudios.com/TEMP/stephan/tower-legal/blue_tower.html

Any suggestions.

Additional note, I was thinking of having the image change at some point to an image map....would that work?

Have you considered using a timer?

Code below sets a timer for 2000 milliseconds (2 seconds) then runs the function "swapStuff".
window.setTimeout("swapStuff()",2000);

Open in new window

What you do inside "swapStuff" is up to you... you can replace the innerHTML of the wrapper that contains the animated image.

In case you need it, code for updating the innerHTML

Pesuming your image is set up like this:
<div id="imageWrapper"><img src="animated.gif /></div>

Open in new window

update it with:
function swapStuff(){
  document.getElementById("imageWrapper").innerHTML = "Your HTML Code for your image map (or whatnot) goes here"
}

Open in new window
