Active Directory Not Opening

Hi,

I recently transferred all FSMO roles from my Windows 2003 Server to my Windows 2008R2 Server.

I followed article : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324801

I removed GC from the old 2003 server, i changed the new server to a GC. I restarted both servers to apply these changes as per changing GC over.

I have rebooted the servers, i am unable to login to either server via RDP and no clients can login. I can login locally to the server and when i go to access A/D from either server i get an error message "The domain controller is unavailable". I cant access any applets to do with A/D and my exchange server is throwing all sorts of discovery errors.

I am lost here, but there were errors to do with a rollup issue with NFS saying that there is replication issues between the server.

So from what i can gather, the issues are related to the synchronization not completing between correctly and perhaps the roles not transferring.

Is there a way i can force a domain controller online? i think they are both offline at the moment until the replication takes place.

I have tried doing some burflag changes as per a few MS articles, i have added HOST file entries to ensure there are no DNS related resolution issues for the replication.

I am REALLY struggling and would appreciate any help, i dont want to rebuild this A/D.
