asked on
App-v sequencing an app & publishing it in Citrix (Firefox)
I would like to test how to create an App-V package.
Goal at the end is to:
-run multiple Java versions in accordance with applications depending on that Java version
-not polluting the system with extra installations, therefore using app-v (see next item) packages which will run directly on Windows 2008 R2 Citrix-servers
-run this package on a Citrix-server with already some applications installed on it: Office, Acrobat etc
=> do we need to install from a clean Windws or should we use the Citrix-server as default?
Now, I would like to start with Mozilla Firefox.
Version Sequencer: version 4.6.1.20870
OS: Windows 2008 R2
I found this article to sequence Firefox http://blog.stealthpuppy.com/virtualisation/sequencing-mozilla-firefox-8/
but how to continue?
F.e.:
-this is an older version of the App-v: http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-guide/tutorial-appv.html, is there a new one?
-when I start the installer, it says "Other applications are running", what makes sence, since I install it on the server which already has Acrobat etc installed so AdobeARM.exe*32 etc are running: do I need to kill these apps first?
-etc
Regards,
J.

Please comment my questions.
Not sure what you mean by that. The answer to "How do I publish my Firefox App-V package as a Citrix streaming app?" is provided on that page step by step. If you aren't using Merchandising Server, just skip that section.
Basically you have to download the App-V client from MS and the App-V Integration Kit from Citrix. The application you actually publish from Citrix is a conduit utility from the integration kit with a command-line parameter specifying the location of the App-V sequence.
