Stop booting..HD wants to be formatted...

We have an M4600, about 3 months old, Win 7...

Stopped booting...on start up get messages...
1. Can't find boot device...
2. HD is not formatted, do you want to format it now...???

If I attach the HD to another comptuer, BIOS will recognize it, give it a drive letter...
But I cannot access it...

So...thinking this thru...It seems to me that the HD is "good"......the drive electronics as not "failed"...nor a mechanical failure
but it has lost info that tells an OS what to do with it...

So, thinking a bad boot sector or something...

Is this something that can  be easily fixed...???

I would first try to run a disk repair (chkdsk) from the PC you attached it to and see what it finds.
From there you might be able to place it back in the original PC and boot normal.
If it fails or has various errors, you might be unable to recover what was housed in that drive.

spartan 1337...
Well. that didn't work...
BIOS sees the drive...I can Rclick it go to properties...tools...
But after that I get error messages...
"Data Error"...Cyclic redundancy check   cant access disk"...

So...at this point I guess I just call dell and get it swapped under warranty...
