Ok, I was on a vista computer and deleted a user account. I thought it asked me if I wanted to send the data to another user but after I deleted it, I checked the User account I sent it to and there was nothing there.  I tried using Winundelete software to search for the information but I can't find it.  Is the User account file extesion something weird.  I looked for a specific document that I needed but it wasn't there in the User account document folder.  Anyone have any ideas?

Is System Restore enabled? Can you go back a day? That may put the account back.

I tried that, I also read that the system restore doesn't put back file. It did re-create the user, but the My document logs were empty.  I know this is my fault for not backing up the data first.  Stupid mistake. Never happen again, but I think I could get the data back if I could only identify what the user file extesion name is, so I can identify what to restore.  The Recycle bin doesn't show the Word docs that were deleted.  I think the deletion file is somewhere, or maybe it moved it to a strange location on the other user account.  Eitherway, why can I see items that were delted from 8 months ago but not from last week.  Unless they were permanetly delted.  If thats the case I screwed, but there must be away. What do you think?

I dun think so.... but maybe another expert can chime in with a suggestion.
System Restore as you found out will not restore profiles or data within profiles when the original user profile has been deleted. You could try a 3rd party undelete application, most of these application have a trial version which will show you what you can recover prior to purchasing the full version.

Here is another site which offers several reviews of data recovery applications:

I had the best experience with iCare data recovery professional and Get data back for ntfs, although none of those is free. :(

Thanks for everyones help.  I just don't see it coming through I must have perminetely deleted it.  Would System Volume folders store temp data that could hold it?
No system Volume Folders will not contain the information that you are looking for. That is where the system restore cache is held.
