Release virtual disk space to Host datastorage

I run many windows server 2008 R2 VMs on the ESX 4.1 VMware host.
Now, I try to release some virtual disk space from VM to host datastorage. As the first step, I shrunk the VM drive space using Windows Disk Management tool. Please see the attached screenshot. For the next step, how to bring these space back to the host datastorage (disk pool)? Could you please advise me?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, hanccocka.

I deploy vSphere Client Version 4.1.0 and VMware vCenter Server Version 4.1.0 on a windows server 2008 r2 server. Should I install VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.0 or 4.3 on that server?

5.0 is the latest, and will work with all VMs.
