droid stopped synching with google calendar

I have a Verizon Motorola Droid2.

The contacts & email from gmail are still synching but the calendar stopped about a week ago.  I deleted the calendar storage.  I manually synched and removed the synching.  And I installed & removed someone else's google calendar since that was a recommended fix on multiple forums.

But it's still not synching.  Any ideas short of factory reset?

neoluddIT,

Is nothing syncing (i.e. no syncing from online cal to phone AND no syncing from phone cal to online) or is it only one way? Have you tried a soft reset or pulling the battery?

Cheers,
LHerrou

p.s. Cute username, btw

it's not synching in either direction.  And I've pulled the battery a couple times.

I assume you were following the steps on the Android forums and other locations. Just in case, did you clear both calendar and calendar storage? I would do that, then immediately turn the phone off, pull battery, replace battery, restart phone. While the phone is off, enter a calendar item for tomorrow into your google calendar. Once you've re-started, check to see that entry shows up on the phone.

That worked.  Thanks.

so it's Menu/Settings/Applications/Storage Use.
select SORT A-Z on the menu option
Clear CALENDAR & CALENDAR SYNC
I had previously cleared GOOGLE CALENDAR SYNC which didn't work

unfortunately this is not a permanent fix, i've had to perform it multiple times and after a couple weeks, the desktop & phone versions are out of sync.  any additional ideas?

Sorry, no. I did some searching to see if there were any other solutions I could find elsewhere, and no luck either. What has Verizon's (somewhat inferior) tech support said?

On this round, I only contacted them once & they were not of any help.  The forums had concrete suggestions, at least.  I've replace this phone 3 times, and would have replaced it again but the warranty is only good for 3.  Of course, that just means I got someone else's hardware rejects.

Yeah, I didn't try the Droid 2. I was on the original Droid, which was great until the capacitive screen failed at about 20 months, now I am on the Droid Bionic, so far so good at about 8 months in.
