Outlook 2010 Active Directory User Photos

IrishLadLive asked
We have Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2010 in a 2003 domain with the schema extended to 2008 R2 at the forst level to try and get the users thumbnailPhoto in Active Directory to display in Outlook as it does currently in Lync.

1. Verified in Active Directory that the revision is now 47 and replicated to all other GC servers so the forest is at 2008 R2 level.
2. Verified that the Picture (thumbnailPhoto) attribute in the schema is set to replicate to the Global Catalog on the schema master.
3. Verified that the Picture (thumbnailPhoto) attribute in the schema has an mAPIID of 35998.

Based on the above all being set and the user have the photo of JPEG format with 96x96 pixels and less than 10k (mine is 6k) Outlook 2010 should start to show the photos without any issues.

BUT its not working, tried with Cache Mode on and off, on various PC's and even a clean build with no policies etc applied from the domain, I have read plenty of articles and tried various other fixes and suggestions but have run out of ideas.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the following two posts, they are pretty much the same, but explain it a bit differently. Ensure that you have done everything according to the articles and let me know if it helps?

Yes I have reviewed both artickle already and the settings and attributes are all correct according to both.

Hi I have also reviewed both them articles without any success. The config looks fine and the pics appear in Lync.
Had anyone setup pics in Outlook 2010 with success or seen this issue?
Hello IrishLadLive,
Did you solve the problem? Have you find the solution?

After a DR Test and rebooting all our servers the pictures worked.
We done nothing apart from take down all servers and since the reboots the pictures appear in Outlook.
Sorry I can't provide any more specific details, so try rebooting all Exchange sevrers if the above settings are correct and it "may" work.

The test was not related to the picture problem but at least its now working.
