access iis web server though firewall

We have a watchguard firewall running fireware pro.  Behind it is server 2008 running IIS.  I am trying to setup access to the webserver though a custom url using ip address.  It works internally but I setup a static NAT using port 80 and cannot get acces to the server.  Wondering what I need to consider other than those basics.

Trying to access the server using the public IP address from behind the firewall may not work.  Many NAT firewall can't do that.  Also, do you have split DNS -- one DNS server for resolving internal addresses, and one for external?

configure the fireguard and your router to forward port 80 inbound to the ip of the machine that hosts iis, and windows firewall on the machine that has iis to allow World Wide Web Services (HTTP Traffic-In) (just enable the rule)

buddurland: splt DNS, we do not.  One internal lookup server.

ve3ofa: I am port forwarding external ip to internal.  Static NAT in the fireware setup.  I have tried this with a proxy and just a custom rule.

current router is x750e with fireware pro
