Why aren't my CSS floats working?

Hi...the site i am working on is at www.melaniedrouhard.com/testing.

I have been staring at this code for a long time trying to figure this stuff out.

I have two images (green button and clipboard) in an <aside> floated right, but as you can see they are at the bottom of the page. I would like for them to align at the top of the right sidebar, even with the H1 text. I am not sure if I correctly applied the "clearfix property" to fix the problem.

Also...the links that are located at the top, are supposed to be at the bottom. They are below the aforementioned images in the code. I am absolutely dumbfounded.

Thank you so much for your help in advance!

is this closer to what you want?

remove width: 530px from #main-content
remove clear: both from aside

add this to #tab-bottom-page

position: absolute;
bottom: 0;
right: 0;

np :).  not sure what browser you are working in but most offer an "inspector" where you can temporarily adjust css settings (amongst other things) to see how these mods would affect your page.  In Chrome and IE you press F12.  Firefox requires the Firebug plugin.
