please some one help me.i have an emergency i lost my user's name to windows xp and i can not log in no more.i have to acess my lap top Please help !!!! Basem

close if you like, but there are a few things left to do if all you need is a username....
#1 boot to safe mode and select the admin account at login. this assumes you know the password, or if it's blank...
#2 using a usb-to-to ide/sata adapter you can connect the hard drive to another pc... browse it to c:\documents and settings\ and you should see the folders with your username...

If you use a boot disc utility, it's possible for you to get the local admin account and reset the password. There's a few places to get a nice boot disc. I personally like hirens. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/
