Need to be able to open a cmd prompt that has a 32 bit app in Win 7.  How can I set this to always run in 32?  I have the target %windir%\SysWoW64\cmd.exe - still doesn't work

Thanks
David

The OS should know and set up the proper environment.

Do you have some batch file that starts your application?

You can just create a shortcut to the 32bit cmd.exe but this is not what you want, right?

And why not using:
%windir%\system32\cmd.exe
?
Commented:
Using %windir%\SysWoW64\cmd.exe should launch a 32bit version of cmd.exe (assuming you are running on a 64bit OS).  You can verify this by checking the value of %PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%.  x86 will show this as x86, while x64 will show AMD64.

You indicate that something *after* the launching of cmd.exe isn't working?  Can you provide more details?

Simply look in task manager's process list, observe "cmd.exe *32"

Let's wait for the OP to give us some more details :)
