OK - Dumb question in my opinion, but I cannot figure this out.

I have a Windows Server 2003 acting as my AD Print Server.
I have an old HP Color Laserjet 4500N shared on the server.
I have a Windows 7 Pro 64bit PC that needs to print to the 4500N.

I went to HP's site and it directs me to the Universal Print Drivers. OK, no problem, I downloaded the UPD PCL6 file but cannot figure out what to do with it.

I have tried adding drivers to the server - no go.

Anyone have an idea of what I need to do to get this printer to work?

Thanks!

I would setup direct IP printing to the HP4500N, because the end-client is X64 and the server is 32bit.

Create printer on client and when its ask's for drives point to the downloaded file.

So just "pretend" there is no server and set it up to go direct to the printer?

OK - That was TOO easy.

Sometimes the best solutions are too obvious and you miss them.

I have worked on this for a couple of hours with no luck. As soon as I did a direct IP install, it worked and problem is resolved. Thank you!
