Configure LDAP Authentication In Joomla

How can I configure a Joomla 1.7 installation for AD authentication through LDAP? Is there a sample configuration that really works? Kindly advise

Yes, you can configure a Joomla 1.7 installation for AD authentication through LDAP.

In order to do this, I simply used this extension:

On a Joomla 1.5 installation and got that part working with the LDAP.

Then on my 1.7 site, I simply copied all of the 1.5 settings for the LDAP and put them into the 1.7 built in LDAP Authentication Plugin.  Since both the 1.5 and 1.7 plugins are the same, this worked for me just fine.
