I just installed Oracle 11g r2 on a Red Hat 5.5 server. I got some help with a little confusion about opening SQL*Plus, but I can't login. the login info that I used when installing is not working. I've tried to login with out connecting to a database and then using the 'conn as sysdba', but is still asks for a user name and password. How can I gain access to my database and change the passwords.

I provided the syntax in the other question.  You are missing the '/':

SQL>  conn / as sysdba

or
sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL> conn / as sysdba

OR

Either way it isn't working for me.

This isn't because of a password.

Learn to Google Oracle error messages.  There is a TON of information out there.

I've done this several times and it never worked. Now that I've asked the question it works. I don't know maybe I missed a space somewhere before. I've even been to this page before and followed what is on it or at least thought I was following it.
Thanks for your help again!!
