Print Management Software

Hi guys,

I am thinking about using a print management software for our department. It is to monitor who is printing , and/or to assign the limits a user can print (ie 20 pages/day)

Are there any freeware/paid softwares that can do this?

Thanks again,

Either one of these should do:

- Print Audit: http://www.printaudit.com
- Sepialine Argos: http://www.sepialine.com/

I have used both with great results. If you have Macs in the environment, go with Sepialine Argos. In both cases, you need a server (can be any workstation, as long as it is not being used by end-users). One great thing about Print Audit is that the users can continue to print even if the server is down, and log their print jobs later. Print Audit costs around $100 per seat, not sure about Argos. I'm not sure if there are any free tools available.

I personally haven't used this, but I've heard good things about it:
http://www.papercut.com/

It does exactly what you've asked for, and more. It tracks/monitors printing and it allows you to set quotas on a daily, weekly, monthly, or custom basis. Regards, Joe
I use HP's Web JetAdmin to monitor and maintain printers.  It is has an extensive feature set and may be able to help you.  There was a reports plugin and you might find useful for tracking.  I am not aware if there is a way to allow only a certain number of pages per day, but it may be work a look.  It is free.

Even if you cannot block after a certain amount of pages, you might be able to setup an alert to let you know.

Good luck!
