Recover exchange 2010 emails

I am doing a test of item recovery in exchange 2010.

If i delete an email i can recover it using the

[Search-Mailbox -Identity "user" -SearchQuery "from:otheruser' AND 'Ladies'" -Target
Mailbox "Discovery Search Mailbox" -TargetFolder "test recovery" -LogLevel Full

However, if i go into my outlook and delete it from the "deleted item recovery" folder, is there any way to get the email back without restoring from a previous backup?

I have tried that but it doesnt work.

If i go into the "Recover deleted items" in outlook, and delete it from there that method doesnt seem to work.

I am going to disable that for the future, but wondering if there is any other way other than a backup.

First We need to check if you have enable single item recovery , Single item recovery isn't enabled by default for new mailboxes or mailboxes moved from a previous version of Exchange. If single item recovery is not enabled you cannot perform the search because there will not be a deleted version kept by in the dumpster.

To check if single Item recovery is enabled run:
Get-mailbox "mailbox" | fl SingleItem*

If its not enable your only way is to restore...
