Hi Guys,

We have 2 Buffalo External USB Hard Drives that are alternated daily to take backups from Acronis on a server. Acronis uses a path to backup to (I.e G:\Backups) If we assign 1 buffalo to G:\ and then switch in the other one and also assign to G:\, when we put the first buffalo back in the drive letter is no longer G:\ If we set one Buffalo to G:\ and remove/replace it multiple times it holds its drive letter. Is there anything you can think of that would put both drives to G:\ when alternated.

Side note The first usb hard drive is removed before the second one is put in. They use the same USB Port.

Check the utility below, you should be able to keep assigned drive-letters using it:

I'd rather not install programs if i can help it. But if that's the only resolution can anyone vouch for this program?

Personally I haven't needed it, but it has often been recommended here by some of the top experts and there was never any issue reported from it.

We have gone with setting up another backup job to the different drive letter. I wasn't too keen on setting up that software. Thanks for your input anyway.
