Inbox subfolders on BlackBerry or iPhone appear open

Hello Experts,

I have a user having issue with is subfolder under the inbox always appear in expanded way. Any way to remove expansion and just show the subfolder ? The issue happen on BlackBerry Torch and Ipad 2 also.

Are you working off a BES server or using activesync?

We are on bes express for Blackberry and Activesync for the Ipad
For Blackberry there is nothing much you can do, try wipe and reinstall OS on blackberry.

If you have the same problem on both the Blackberry and on the IPad, I think there is another problem. You are talking about two totally different ways to syncing the device. By default, unless you have made some change. Blackberries only sync the inbox, not the sub folders.

My question is there is a way to hide the content of the subfolder. It is okay to see the main subfolder but I need to be able to hide the content of the subfolder itself. Any menu available on the BlackBerry or the iPHONE ?

On the blackberry, Go to Folder Redirection on BES and Uncheck the Subfolders and Reconcile on blackberry.

Depending on your version,

•Log into the BlackBerry Administration Service web console.
•Expand User under BlackBerry Solution Management.
•Click Manage Users.
•Search for the user and click on the user's display name.
•Click Default configuration under the Messaging Configuration section of the User Informationtab of the user view.
•Click the emailtab.
•Click Edit user.
•Select Selected folders under the Redirection settings.
•De-select the folder other than the inbox (this should remove the syncing from the sub-folders)
•Click Continue to user information edit.
•Click Save all.

Thanks for the comments about Blackberry. Now I need to know about Iphone having issue with the inbox subfolder appear on the iphone and was deleted in outlook few days ago. Any config to check ?

Basically, the IPhone does not support folder redirection or management when syncing with ActiveSync. You cannot chose some folders and not others, etc. This is a major complaint about it. You can Google the issue, or look at the link I provided below:

My main concern at this point is why deleted folder appear on the Iphone when has been deleted in Outlook few days ago ?

Because they don't sync. From what I read, if the users tried to access the folder on the IPhone, then it updates, which would probably delete it.
