copy only last 1000 records of the crushftp.log file to read in visual studio 10

out crushftp.log file is large i tried to read though it in visual studio 10 and it took 2 hours.
I want to be able to only read the last 1000 or so records
when i copy the file can i only copy the last 1000 records or so?
 someone know a better way? i know i can sort it and get the record i want on top
any othere suggestion?

do you know now at the cmd level to sort a file and select an offset to sort on
on unix it was easy but on the pc i don't see a way
I dont know if sorting is supported on text files. Is it a CSV file?

Well, the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools contain a tail command. Will that work for you?

Search for a DOS version of the TAIL command, that should allow you to do this.  GNU Tail or UNXTOOLS are likely versions to check out, but I don't have URLs handy...
