I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

please try to update drivers and then give a try.

That error is usually driver related. Please provide more information about the PC, hard disk, and XP media being used.

I've seen older SoundBlaster audio cards & driver combinations cause that.  If there's a SoundBlaster, remove or disable it and see if you can install without the bluescreen.

After Replacing the hard drive on the machine again it turned out to be a bad hard drive causing the blue screen. I replicated the same error on a different machine using the same hard drive.
