Windows 7 can't connect to any network

I have an HP Pavilion DV6. Several days ago, it started running extremely slowly. I went back and it looks like McAfee did an update and that's when it started. I took McAfee off (am going to install AVG) and now the computer is very fast. But I have no network connections. When I try to connect the Wi Fi, the computer says it's connected to 'no name provided'. I ran Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro and only found one piece of malware. Please help!

Did you completely uninstalled MaAfee or just disabled it?

I completely uninstalled McAfee. I couldn't get it to do anything so took it to a repair place. They said that one of the redirect viruses had really messed it up. They did a fresh reinstall of Windows 7, and backed up and restored the files, and all is fine now.

Thanks for all the suggestions and advice!
