.NET 2.0

Just purchased a new Windows 7 64 bit machine. I install VS2005 on the machine where I work in the VB.NEt environment. When I try to compile my project I get various 3rd party errors. When logging onto their site they suggest to remove the pre install .NET framework and install an  older .Net 2.0 framework. Is this the best way of doing this and if so where can I find older version of the .net framework 2.0

Congratulations on the new machine. Did you install all the 3rd party components?

I am having some issues with a 3rd party control DevExpress Reports that will not install on a 64 bit machine. I say in the forum that there could be some conflict with the .Net framework on newer PC So that why my original question about the .NET 2.0, however it looks like the PC have frameworks 3.5 and 4.0

You only seem to have client profile of .NET 4. Try downloading and installing full version.

Did you install devexpress? What version? 32bit or 64bit?

One is a web installer (small initial download and then that exe downloads the rest) and the other one is the full installer I think.
