Simple IM program

I'm looking to set up a simple Chat system just for use within the office. What's the procedure? Do I need a program? An account?
The computers are networked, so we can use that or just have it run through the internet.
Looking for some advice from someone experienced in this...

If the computers already have office 2007 then it should come with Office Communicator

We have 2010. How do I find Office Communicator?
LanTalk NET is very good for an intra office use:

I'd rather a Microsoft product, if possible. Is Office Communicator also in Microsoft 2010?

Usually. But not when boss is in a meeting and I need to ask him something without the clients overhearing.
