troubleshooting Question

cannot log on when I have a network cable plugged in

I have a user that cannot log into his comuter, Windows 7 on a Windows domain. If I unplug from the network (unplug cable) he can log in.
In other words:
domain\username does not work when cable is plugged in, if I unplug, login and then plug in cable it will work.
Any suggestions?
