Are you able to open Excel directly on the Citrix server via RDP? If yes, change IE8 settings to default, see if add-on are properly set and try. &nbsp; If required, reinstall the excel on that server and check.

If you dont have Excel on your server the minmal would be Excel reader i guess <br />

en what do you mean opening Excel in IE8 i hope you mean that you connect to a server and trying to open the file true a ICA protocol <br />
