Citrix - IE8 cannot open excel file ?

Hi experts,
In citrix, some reason IE 8 cannot open excel file ? Can anyone shed some light ?
What are minimum req'ed componenets need to get setup in  citirx server in order to IE8 to open
excel files ?

Are you able to open Excel directly on the Citrix server via RDP? If yes, change IE8 settings to default, see if add-on are properly set and try.   If required, reinstall the excel on that server and check.

If you dont have Excel on your server the minmal would be Excel reader i guess

en what do you mean opening Excel in IE8 i hope you mean that you connect to a server and trying to open the file true a ICA protocol
"publisched application" and not as a content.

how should manage add-on look like for IE8 to open .xls within browser window in citrix ?

To restore default settings:
1. launch your published IE8 from Citrix
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options
3. Browse to the Advanced Tab
4. Click the button 'Restore Advanced Settings'

To manage add-ons on the launch IE8 from Citrix:
1. On the Tools menu, click manage add-ons

If you want to go on that course of troubleshooting, then try first disabling all add-ons and see whether this resolves your issue. But, did you check first whether you have UPM installed and whether the forum is helpful?
