Pivot Table field has values that don't exist

workig with some financial data.  the data that the pivot table pulled from originally contained account 184.  My new data set does not contain 184 but on the pivot table in the account field it still allows you to select 184 but you get no data.  I have refreshed that data and made sure I do't have other filters on.  anyhelp?

Probably not what you want to hear, but I believe you'll have to rebuild the pivot table from scratch if you want to eliminate the ghost of accounts past.

Hi, BigWill5112.

It depends on the version of Excel you're using. In Excel 2010 (IIRC, it's similar in 2007)...

In the "PivotTable Options" dialogue, click on the "Data" tab. Change "No. of items to retain per field" to "None".

What version have you got?

Regards,
Brian.
BigWill5112,

Please see here for pre-2007.

Regards,
Brian.
