Laptop Number Keys not working on web sites

I have a Gateway MS2274 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. If I open a Word document or any program and enter data all works well. It I open a web page the top row of number keys will give me the previous character that was entered. In other words, if I go to my Facebook page and I want to type something like "BR549" I will get "BRRRR." I do have a numeric keypad that works as it should but I would like to get this entire keyboard working properly. Please advise.

Thank you!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

if the num key not working while accessing internet. i suggest you to try using different web browser rather than internet explorer to cross check and troubleshoot.

eg. opera , Mozilla Firefox,Google crome .

If same thing happens after trying above all things then its definitely wrong in OS.

Hi,

If windows registry optimizing utility doesn't work then it could be protection based application that causes it.

Do you have any anti theft/identity/antispyware/antimalware installed ?

Try to uninstall the programs mentioned above, Comcast Constant Guard have knows same issue.
