USB devices not recognised under 2003/2008 server OS

I need to transfer files up to 100GB from my USB backup devices to server . But my devices are not recognized in server OS. I checked and even USB sticks 4GB/8GB are non identified at server OS. These all USB devices work OK under windows Vista and Xp.

Can I fix this?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Check in the device manager and ensure that the usb root hubs do not have a yellow exclamation mark beside them. If they do then try to delete them and re-scan them.

Also in your disk manager check to see that your usb is not trying to mount under a drive letter that has been taken up by a shared mapping.

Hope this helps
