Chess software

Dear experts,

I want to learn the chess game.

to this can anyone in this forum tell me if there is any software which can teach me about rules of the game and stratgies.

Also if it can have the option where i can play with the chess software (take one side while computer takes the other side).

I do have some preliminary level of knowledge, what i know is if pawn make take two steps on the first move and what are the options available during the game. These should be those facts which generally are not available in the general books.

Also when the moves are made, it should show/demonstrate what moves have been made. Generally the moves by the computer are made in a split second, whereby it becomes difficult to monitor the moves the computer has made (this is where the learning is).

Also can the sfotware loaded on more than pc, as me and my family members have different laptops (single or multiple user id) option.
