Restarted EMC Clariion CX3, now one ESX hosts will not connect

Hi

We had to do a power down of our ESX hosts and EMC Clariion, on powering it all back up we all ESX hosts apart from one have reconnected without issue.

One of the hosts has not connected, when i go into Navisphere and look at the host, slect connectivity status it shows and Registered but not connected

I have attached a screenshot, can anyone let me know the best way to troubleshoot, my experience with this is very limited, its end of life and out of support.

Thanks

The fact that the hosts' WWNs are greyed out and Logged In status is 'No' suggests that the FC switch zoning has been dropped when you restarted the system. The Logged In status of No suggests that there is no end-to-end Fibre Channel connection between the host and the array.

First thing to check is that the Fibre Channel adapters in the host have a green LED lit. That means that the HBAs have logged into the Fibre Channel switch which confirms that the host OS drivers have loaded and that there is physical connectivity to the switch. That simply leaves the configuration of the FC switch - the zoning. FC switch zoning associates the host with the storage and allows one to connect to the other. A Fibre Channel zone is a little like a tiny VLAN.

To assist with FC zoning, I'll need to know what the switch is: Brocade, McData or Cisco.
